Stonebwoy titles the song ‘Outside’. According to him, the song is to address the Ejura protest that resulted in the military shooting that claimed two lives.
The movement, mostly made up of youth, is demanding better living conditions, effective systems accountability from the government. Prior to the new single on July 1, the outspoken musician had vented on social media over the killing of some two residents of Ejura by security personnel while protesting the murder of a social activist who had been murdered a few days earlier.
Stonebwoy spoke about the fatal incident tweeting,
“Kaaka didn’t have to die. He was only advocating for the improvement of the lives of his fellow citizens including the very people that killed him. He was killed because he refused to be a spectator.
“His brethren in Ejura didn’t have to be attacked,”

They were only venting their frustration. Yet the men and women who have sworn an oath to protect us and serve us with integrity attacked them.
We need justice for Kaaka. We need to hold the police and military responsible for the loss of lives in Ejura. #Outside #NaGoIn— 1GAD (@stonebwoy) June 30, 2021
And he later announced the release of a song by tweeting
” Had a few important ISSUES I needed to ADDRESS…”.
