Fate: The Winx Saga season 2 missed an anniversary premiere window in January, was absent in February, and will miss a March release as well. Though this isn’t due to a delay in production. As Netflix Life previously reported, filming on the second season ended in November 2021.
We’re about three or so months into post-production on season 2. Lead Abigail Cowen did tell Collider that it’ll be a bit before we see the new season make its land on Netflix. That’s not surprising considering post-production can run anywhere between six to eight months or longer if special effects have to be factored in.
What does that mean for news concerning the second season? Well, it’ll start trickling in the closer we get to the end of post-production. Going into season 2’s filming schedule, Netflix announced the following additions to the cast:
- Brandon Grace as Grey
- Éanna Hardwicke as Sebastian
- Paulina Chávez as Flora
However, there’s been little else revealed about the season. There are no official set shots or stills for season 2. We’re definitely not in promo mode yet. What we have is the announcement video for the start of production last year, which you can watch below, and that’s basically it.
oes Fate: The Winx Saga season 2 have a release date?
Fate: The Winx Saga season 2 will hit its earliest post-production release window in May. However, Stranger Things season 4 is set to premiere part one of its season on May 27, so Bloom and the gang aren’t likely to be returning within the same month as that juggernaut show.
We could see Fate: The Winx Saga‘s sophomore season land in June in the month between Part 1 and 2 of Stranger Things season 4. However, if season 2 doesn’t drop in June then we’ll be waiting until late July or August at the earliest to see the new show since Stranger Things returns July 1.
With no official release date announced for the second season, we can only speculate on when Fate: The Winx Saga will return for season 2, but it’s looking like it’ll be a summer 2022 release.
