Wendy Shay is making news with her new song “Survivor” since it’s released. The 26 years old singer states that, her new song is a ”broken heart’ song, a personal experience she had. “Although am an artist I can go through the experience regardless.”
Glitch Africa classified “Survivor” as just not a song but a strong affirmation of Wendy Shay’s self-belief, unwavering growth and dominance.”
“Broken heart is universal, it doesn’t know if you’re an artist or you’re star, It can just happen to a man or a woman, or whoever” – she told Glitch Africa during her live session with the studio.
Wendy wrote this song to empower women especially, who are in abusive relations, and it was for most part inspired by late Nigerian gospel singer Osinachi, and Shay said that, was the only way she could leave all anger out publicly shaming violence in relationships and marriages.
“So what really gingered this song was when I heard the death of the late Nigerian gospel singer Osinachi, that was the only way I could dissipate my anger through music.” – SHE TOLD GLITCH AFRICA.
The ‘Shay on You‘ singer wants all her listeners to feel strong and indomitable whenever she sings, because that’s what she will and always stand for.
“I want every woman, well in some cases men to tap into that energy to dissipate every anger in them. “Whenever you hear a Wendy Shay song, I want you to see a “Strong Woman”, an “Indomitable Woman,” a Woman who’s Fearless and doesn’t give up and empower other women to do same.”
