Black Sherif Battles Inner Demons And Sabotages W/ New Album “The Villain I Never Was”

On top of that, this impressive music collection consists of fourteen (14) rigid singles which you won’t like to miss.

“I feel like inside myself, I am my own villain,’ the singer tells Apple Music.

The highly anticipated first album titled The Villain I Never Was has finally been made available for purchase by popular artist Black Sherif, real name Ismail Sherif Mohammed Frimpong.

This is Ghanaian music sensation Black Sherif’s maiden debut album, after his breakthrough and rise to stardom with single and street anthem “Second Sermon” released in July 2021.

Black Sherif tweeted about his enthusiasm for his most recent collection of work.

” It took me everything to give life to this body. The one thing in my life that I gave everything up for. There is life in this body, I hope it treats you good and speaks to you like I want it to. My debut album, “The Villain I Never Was”. Available on all stores on 06-10-2022” – he wrote on Twitter.

Revealing what triggered the name choice “The Villain I Never Was” for his first album, he stated on Luv FM on October 9th that he has been continually seen as a horrible guy throughout his life, even when he has done nothing wrong.  He claimed that as this story circulated, more and more people began to see themselves in it.

The singer of “Second Sermon” said that these events affected his choice of the album title for his debut, “The Villain I Never Was.”

“For some time, I thought I was the bad guy and people thought I was the bad guy, but sitting and being at peace with my soul I realised I am not the bad person in my story and other people’s stories. Mostly, I don’t even care about what people say. I need to have peace with myself.

What someone thinks about me I can’t do anything about it, but I can control how I feel about myself”, he told DJ Reuben, host of DriveTime on Luv.

“I really do not care about external battles, so I love to blame myself a lot. Whatever happens, I blame myself, because if I blame somebody, how do I then settle it? I don’t know what they are thinking, but if I blame myself, I know I have to make peace with myself and keep going”, he added.

The rapper said that his new record is an autobiography and that he utilized it to document some significant moments in his life.

The album was released after Black Sherif gave fans the magnificent single “Soja.” Only a few weeks after its release, Soja has racked up a staggering number of streams. After his first sermon and second sermon singles erupted on social media early last year, the artist became extremely popular.

The music of Black Sherif has received endorsements from artists such as Busta Rhymes, DJ Khaled, Popcaan, Busy Signal, and others.

His tracks “Money,” “Ade Akye,” and “Destiny” catapulted him into the Ghanaian music industry. The 14-track The Villain I Never Was album only has Burna Boy on the tune titled “Kweku The Traveller Remix.”

The Homeless Song, Oil in my mind, Soja, Sad Boys Don’t Fold, Prey the Youngster, and other songs are included on the CD.
