The Jamaican-born singer and composer Lila Iké has received praise for her calming vocal prowess, truthful lyrics, and adaptable delivery. With her hard-hitting dancehall anthem “Dinero,” produced by Grammy Award winner Sean Alaric, she demonstrates her aural versatility today.

In the accompanying Samo-directed video, Lila commands the frantic energy of Kingston’s streets while flowing with confidence and grace. Dinero, which is Spanish for Money, sees Lila sharing her journey from her humble beginnings in Christina, Manchester, to reaping the rewards of her hard work.

Also announcing her new song was Protoje, who made the announcement on his Twitter account on Wednesday, confirming that Dinero will be released on Thursday. Protoje posted the song cover, captioning it: “New music this week x fresh off a tour the one @LilaIkeJa X Dinero this Thursday!! Road in Trouble.

Lila is energized by the people throughout the video, soaking in a swimming pool and realizing the hard work required to reach success. “Dinero” stands out among Lila’s current ballad-driven conscious singles like “Wanted” and “True Love” as a potent flavor in her broad palette of songs.

Lila Iké said her new single Dinero is a fun, and an uplifting song with a more dancehall direction and it shows her other side to her music.

“I want this song to mostly entertain people as I show another side of myself and my capabilities musically. For me it’s a continuation of my story picking up from ‘Where I’m Coming From.’ I hope it encourages people to work hard for what they want, step confidently in their dreams and aspirations and enjoy the fruits of their labor. This is something I struggle with myself sometimes, but I think that mindset is important,” she stated.

Together with Protoje and Jesse Royal, she completed a 20-plus city tour around the country. Through RCA Records and In.Digg.Nation Collective, the singer will keep releasing new tracks. This year, she has already graced reggae’s top festival stages including Cali Vibes (U.S.), Cali Roots (U.S.) and Summerjam (Germany) and joined Protoje on tour this Fall.

She is getting ready to release her first full-length album after receiving positive reviews for her debut seven-track EP The ExPerience in May 2020 (through RCA Records in collaboration with Protoje‘s label and artist management organization In.Digg.Nation Collective enabled by Six Course Records).

The pair have collaborated several times in the past, their most recent song being Late At Night, released on September 8. Iké is also set to take the stage in Bridgetown, Barbados at the Island Wave concert along with Protoje, Kalpee, Jaz Elise and many more.

Protoje has confirmed that this will be his closing performance for the year.
