Dancehall musician Shatta Wale thinks that in comparison to Nigerian Afrobeat Machala Wizkid, his colleague Sarkodie may have done better for himself or just as big.
He told Showbiz A-Z that the “Illuminati” hitmaker failed to capitalize on his relationship with record producer Akon to help his rap music career. Shatta claims that despite Sarkodie pouring a lot of cash into his music and brand, the rapper’s career has not advanced as much as he had hoped.
This, he claimed, is primarily due to the fact that, unlike his Nigerian counterpart, he is an independent artist making moves in the industry on his own without the support of a record label. Shatta Wale admitted that he doesn’t always put as much money into his music as his friend and fellow rapper Sarkodie does.
The singer said, the ‘Highest’ rapper and his “slow progress” is not much not enough to motivate or get heads up the game.
