Rebel Wilson gave birth to her first child through a surrogate. She shocked everyone by revealing the news when the actress posted a picture of her newborn daughter, Royce Lillian, on Instagram on Monday.
âBeyond proud to announce the birth of my first child, Royce Lillian, born this past week via surrogate,â the actress captioned her post, alongside the baby girlâs first photo.
“I can’t even describe the love I have for her, she’s a beautiful miracle,” the 42-year-old actor wrote. “I am forever grateful to everyone who has been involved, (you know who you are), this has been years in the makingâŠbut particularly wanted to thank my gorgeous surrogate who carried her and birthed her with such grace and care.”

While keeping her surrogate unnamed, Wilson expressed her gratitude to her for helping her begin her own family. On her Instagram story, she also posted a picture of herself holding pink balloons.

Celebrity friends of the actress were quick to post congratulations in the comments area. One person, Melanie Griffith, sent the Australian celebrity a string of heart-shaped emojis, while others left her longer words.
âCongrats so happy for you, youâre going to be an incredible mom,â Arielle Kebbel wrote. âWelcome to the world sweet Roycie!â
Lindsey Vonn added, âSo so happy for you mama.â
Wilson told People Magazine earlier this year that one of the reasons she chose 2020 as her “year of health” was because she wanted to start a family. She admitted that starting fertility treatments at the age of 39 felt like it was too late, but she looked up to people like Janet Jackson who had similar experiences.

Wilson revealed in May that she was “happily in a relationship,” and in June went public with Agruma, the founder of sustainable clothing line Lemon Ve Limon.
âI thought I was searching for a Disney Prince ⊠but maybe what I really needed all this time was a Disney Princess,â the Senior Year actress wrote on Instagram alongside the hashtag âLove is love,â at the time.

The couple, who made headlines for their connection quickly, also clarified the situation when engagement rumors surfaced earlier this month. Thank you for your happy wishes, but we are NOT engaged, Rebel said at the time in an Instagram Stories post.
The comedian has engaged in a few public romances during her time in the spotlight. In 2015, she was connected to Mickey Gooch Jr. She dated Jacob Busch, the heir to the Anheuser-Busch fortune, in later years.
According to a source who previously spoke with Life & Style, “Jacob and Rebel go well together.” He makes everyone laugh, and he’s incredibly entertaining to be around.
