Samuel L. Jackson Responds to Quentin Tarantino’s Claim That Marvel Actors Aren’t Movie Stars

“Chadwick Boseman is Black Panther. You can’t refute that. And he’s a movie star,” Jackson said

Recently, there has been a lot of debate surrounding the films produced by the Marvel Studios. Many directors, including Martin Scorsese, Francis Ford Coppola, and Alejandro G. Iárritu, have said things about superhero movies that haven’t gone over well with the audience or the talent working on them.

Despite having minimal impact on how anyone feels about going to the movies or whether they are having a good time while watching them, the foolish discussion is still going strong today.

The most recent was made by director Quentin Tarantino, who recently asserted that the fall of cinematic stars is due to the impact of Marvel movies.

While promoting his new book the Pulp Fiction director was speaking on a podcast where he discussed the death of the ‘movie star’ culture. He noted, “Part of the Marvel-ization of Hollywood is… you have all these actors who have become famous playing these characters. But they’re not movie stars. But they’re not movie stars. Right? Captain America is the star. Or Thor is the star.”

Samuel L. Jackson, a stalwart of the MCU and a longtime associate of the director,. You wouldn’t need to respond to every ludicrous thing someone posts on the Internet in a just society, but that’s not how things operate, do they? Samuel L. Jackson, a longtime Marvel actor and frequent Tarantino collaborator, has since responded to the latter’s remarks.

Appearing on The View, the Nick Fury actor challenged the Once Upon a Time… in Hollywood director’s claims, stating, “That’s not a big controversy for me to know that apparently these actors are movie stars.”

“It takes an actor to be those particular characters, and the sign of movie stardom has always been, what, asses in seats? What are we talking about?” Jackson continued. “Chadwick Boseman is Black Panther. You can’t refute that, and he’s a movie star.”

Jackson’s comment is particularly intriguing because of his well-known collaboration with Tarantino. In addition to Inglourious Basterds, Jackson has appeared in Quentin Tarantino’s Pulp Fiction, Django Unchained, The Hateful Eight, Jackie Brown, and Kill Bill: Volume 2. Jackson’s answer will undoubtedly become more sensational as a result, but it remains to be seen how it will impact their working relationship.

Jackson has been portraying Nick Fury for more than ten years; his character was responsible for bringing the Avengers together and has served as the MCU’s compass for a number of iterations.

He has worked with a variety of performers, such as Tom Hiddleston, Benedict Cumberbatch, Robert Downey Jr., and Tom Holland, all of whom have made irrefutable contributions to the cinematic landscape and are unquestionably draw-cards.

Jackson’s role as Nick Fury in the MCU Secret Invasion series will be his next appearance. Ben Mendelsohn, Olivia Colman, Emilia Clarke, Christopher McDonald, and Cobie Smulders will also appear alongside Jackson in this series.
