Spice, Bisa Kdei, & Phyno Featured On Yemi Alade’s “African Baddie” EP

Yemi Alade is serving attitude with the release of her new EP, African Baddie, which is available and via Effyzzie Music. The earlier-released tracklist included collaborations with artists like Dancehall Queen Spice, British-Nigerian singer Lemar, Zlatan, , and Phyno, among others.

The 10-track album samples styles like Dancehall, Highlife, and Afrobeats and reflects varied moods. Before the debut of AFRICAN BADDIE, Yemi Alade dropped the catchy single off the EP, “Bubble It” featuring Spice, which received over 6 MILLION views. Increasing the Nigerian singer’s TIK TOK views to over 20 MILLION on YouTube.

“This new EP is special to me,” said the singer. Everyone will be able to connect with numerous music that will suit their mood. On “African Baddie,” there is a song for every person. I’m thrilled to take my listeners on a musical journey with each song as the atmosphere flows into one another.

“I’m an African Baddie, but that doesn’t mean I don’t have emotions,” says Yemi. “Every woman can relate to all the moods on this EP. One minute we are begging a man not to hurt us again and the next we’re in front of the mirror reminding ourselves who is really in control,” the singer stated.

Yemi Alade is the top afropop female musician on the African continent with four albums and soon to be three EPs under her belt. She is also one of the first females in the genre to reach over 100 million views on YouTube and more than 1 million devoted fans.

She has been nominated for Best International Act Africa at the BET Awards in 2015 and 2016; Best International Act at the MOBO Awards in 2014 and 2015; and Best Female at the MTV Africa Music Awards (MAMAs) in 2015 and 2016.

African Baddie is the follow-up to Yemi’s Grammy Award–winning contributions to Beyonce’s Black Is King of 2021 and Angelique Kidjo’s “Mother Nature” album from earlier this year. This EP, which showcases Yemi’s flexibility as a global musician, receives the same amount of attention and recognition.
