Selena Gomez received some unwarranted criticism after posting a cosmetics tutorial, but her most recent Instagram post shows that she isn’t letting it stop her from populating her account.
Late on Wednesday afternoon, the Hollywood icon and Golden Globe nominee shared a carousel of photos showing her looking totally comfortable and unglammed.
The “Only Murders the Building” star is shown in all three of the images sporting comfortable clothing and an unmade-up appearance, while the captions for each picture simply read “Me.”
Despite the selfies’ simplicity, the singer’s fans gushed about her natural beauty in the comments section, and the images received over 1.5 million likes in the first hour they were posted.
Selena has made headlines in recent weeks with a number of different social media posts. She posted some candid photos of herself and her friends to her Instagram page last week, but it was the caption that drew the attention of fans.
Despite the fact that it only said “3,” this alone sparked speculation regarding whether or not she was maybe working on a third album.
Selena’s last album Rare came out back in 2020 but she was hardly quiet in 2022, scoring hit songs like ‘Let Somebody Go‘ with Coldplay and ‘Calm Down’ with Rema as well as releasing her own single ‘My Mind & Me.’
Although Selena’s most recent post appears to include no further clues about upcoming music, that hasn’t prevented fans from making predictions about when she might be getting ready to release a new single or possibly a whole album this year.
Gomez uploaded a makeup tutorial earlier this week that received attention as a result of comments that drew attention to her trembling hand (she jokingly captioned the clip, “PSA I got most of these products free.”).
When trolls attacked her, she wrote: “Lol I shake because of my medication for lupus. Also read my disclaimer. I ain’t no pro.” According to CNN, the TikTok video that showed Selena’s shaking hand was later removed.
