Boca Livre won the Best Latin Pop Album award with “Pasieros”, a partnership between the Brazilian group and Panamanian musician Rubén Blades, during the 2023 Grammy Awards ceremony. , by Camilo; “Aguilera”, by Christina Aguilera, “Viajante”, by Fonseca; and “Dharma +”, by Sebastián Yatra.

The group’s partnership with Rubén began in 2011, when they recorded the first version of “Pasieros”. Boca Livre, a group comprised of Maurcio Maestro, Zé Renato, Lourenço Baeta, and David Tygel, published the album in May 2022 in association with Rubén. The Boca Livre group has currently disbanded as a result of political disagreements among the participants.
Born in Panama City, Rubén Blades is a singer, songwriter and musician who achieved success in the 1970s by giving new air to Latin rhythms.
